Making Your Partner Melt

With life's daily humps, one of the best way to ease the tensions, pressures and stress in your life is to set your mind and body at peace with a massage.

As the pressure to perform financially grows, recent studies have proven that the stress we receive from our professional lives take its toll on our personal relationships - especially romantic ones.

Joy Sponsor - Make Your Partner Melt - have come up with a specific massage called, "The Seduction Massage," which is designed for same sex couples in particular to ensure that the spark is kept alit.

The Massage was actually performed by co-founder Dennis on his friend Emma. They are now married. The couple are apart of Merkhas Health and run Make Your Partner Melt which includes massage packages and romantic getaway ideas for couples.

They drop by The Hump Day Crew and teach Adz and Bish how to massage one another....and even though they techinically aren't a couple - there are of the same sex...and are two couple...which kind of makes them a same sex couple. Click here to listen to their experiences.

Make Your Partner Melt currently have two Seduction massage workshops coming up on November 28. Click here for more details.

HDC Global Community - Perth Fairday

Perth is one of the most isolated metropolitan areas on earth. The nearest city to Perth with a population over one million is Adelaide in South Australia, which is 2,104 kilometres (1,307 mi) away. Perth is geographically closer to Dili (East Timor), Singapore and Jakarta (Indonesia), than it is to Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

So surely their gay way of life may be a little unique?

Fairday is an event that marks the start of Perth Pride Month with our entire community coming together to celebrate in a relaxed and festive setting that enables businesses, community groups and government agencies to interact through stalls, events and ongoing entertainment.

Live bands, cabaret singers, and dancers keep the crowds entertained throughout the day. Families can picnic on the lawn beneath the shade of the Russell Square trees. There's usually activities for the kids, such as bouncey castles or petting zoos. And of course, the perennial crowd favourite - the Dog Show.

Sounds pretty normal.

James Findlay and Molly Whelan from Victoria's Midsumma travelled to Perth to promote our Victoria's own pride month.

Click here to listen as James, Molly and some locals chat with Adz.

Cory Lee - Turning the Naughty On

It is quite unique to come across a singer, actress or dancer that is truly talented in their specific field. Introducing Canadian singer, songwriter, dancer and actress - Cory Lee, and because she wears four hats, that would technically make her more than a triple threat.

The half German, half Chinese singer kicked started her career with her flagship track, "The Naughty Song," which captured the hearts of the lesbian community in particular as it was featured in season 3 of The L Word spun by the luscious Carmen De La Pica Morales. Following the launch of that single came her debut album, "What A Difference A Day Makes," which lead her to win the Indie Music Award for Pop Artist Of The Year and 2 Canadian Radio Music Awards.

The Naughty Song

Lee has also featured in several films and television series including Saw V and Being Erica. Alongside her work in film and tv, Cory's second album "Sinful Innocence," saw her team up with 3 time Juno award winner Perry Alexander (Shawn Desman) and KUYA (Nelly, Mase) which explores the good girl/bad girl double standard.

Now, on the brink of releasing a new album early next year, we are able to witness the darker, deeper and "dancier," side of Cory Lee.

Cory drops by The Hump Day Crew and lets us know just how cool Vanilla Ice still is after supporting him, her love for making old ladies irrate and we learn that she is quite the master prank caller.

Soul: The actuating cause of an individual life

As Hump Day Health and Healing focuses on looking after the most important person in your life: you, it is all well to exercise, eat well and to ensure you have a clear mind and energetic body to get you through life's humps and challenges.

As important as it is to look after your body and mind and ensure it receives the right amount of attention, sometimes we forget to nuture and coax the most important and integral part of our existence: our soul.

Tarot Reader - Jo Lanning talks of how important it is to look after the soul in ensuring we are surrounded by positive energies and making sure we actually connect with the most important part of our soul - our spirit, as it encompasses who we are.

Our Adz got his cards read live to air and below are the cards the universe chose for him - click here to listen to what is in store for his future.

Jo can be heard on Joy 94.9 on AEDST Saturdays 2pm for the new show, "Soul Shift."

The Importance Of Eating Breakfast

There was a reason why our parents constantly nagged us during our childhood about eating breakfast before they sent us off to school, drumming into our ears that "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

An average adult sleeps between 5 - 8 hours a night, consuming their last meal at least 2 - 3 hours the night prior. Therefore, each morning when we awake, it would mean our body is deprived of food for up to 10 hours. A hearty breakfast, ensure that our body starts with the fuel it needs to carry us through our day, and also to kick start our metabolism, which is at it's slowest in the morning. The quicker the metabolism, the quicker the food is processed in our body.

Skipping breakfast also poses dangers. Not only would we be starving our body, but without breakfast, our metabolism only slows down further and will store food consumed throughout the day, instead of burning it.

Chris Gregoriou - Personal Trainer from Joy Sponsor, Metro Body Fitness stops by The Hump Day Crew to ensure that we all had had breakfast. To find out about more tips on how to maintain a healthy diet to ensure the best for your body - download his tips here.

Billie Myers - kickin back with a cup of Tea & Sympathy

Coming across this amazing artist at the age of 12 has seared a vivid memory in my mind of the addicitvely amazing vocal style of the British born Billie Myers. The openly bi-sexual singer, now based in LA, is dawning up a new era - the release of her fourth album, "Tea and Sympathy." After the success of her 90's single, "Kiss The Rain," Myers has gone through a decade of change which has shone through with strength in her work.

After being dropped by her record label, Myers' fightback has come fighting back with a kickin' new album which has seen a evolution of vocal styles and showcases similiar subject matter to her previous work, with a modern spin.

Billie chats with Ginni from The Hump Day Crew revealed more interesting facts about the singer:
- she has spread a rumour involving Mel B in an uncomfortable position with tampons
- her proposal to "brunette-ifying," the world
- a proposed introduction to The Hump Day Crew if ever we were to interview Britney Speares
- chicken hypnotherapy

Kiss Hannah Gadsby Quick! She's Full of Jubes...literally!

Hannah Gadsby is something of an overnight success. And she owes it all to a friend who entered her in the 2006 Raw Comedy Competition, at the tender age of 28.

In her own dry, self-deprecating manner, which is typical of her stand up style, she says, “I’m from Tasmania, we’re slow there.” Since her win in 2006 she has become a regular on the Australian and international comedy scene, having now performed around the country, as well as in New York and Edinburgh. She’s currently touring Australia performing her latest show, Kiss Me Quick, I’m Full Of Jubes.

Hannah dropped by the JOY studios to talk about her journey so far, her upcoming show and with the Hump Day Crew's help....to get Full of Jubes. Click here to listen to the result.
