Earth Hour with Mystery Man - Matt Werkmeister from TV's Neighbours

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

At just 17 years of age, Matt Werkmeister is one of Australia's youngest and most talented actors. Playing the role of "Zeke," on Neighbours, Matt joined the Hump Day Crew in their Earth Hour special where all hosts were blindfolded.

Studying musical theatre at the Children's performing Company of Australia, some of Matt's theatre credtis include Annie, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and The Full Monty. Although, after studying musical theatre, Matt modestly claims he cannot really sing, nor is he much of a dancer. We cannot affirm the latter - we were blindfolded when we met him.

Ginni unleashed Matt as a mystery guest to Adz and The Bish, who, with the help of the listeners had to guess who Matt was. The guessing process involved clues and Bish and Adz feeling Matt's head, arms, hair and shoes.

Dan Knight is simply HOT!

Singer, Dancer, Model, Disco King, Shy Guy, Show Boy.as well as a Part Time Exhibitionist is the hottest gay pop star in Sydney …Dan Knight.

Whatever you think of Dan Knight there is no doubt that he has an undeniable presence. Born 20 years ago to humble beginnings in eastern England, Dan Knight sang and danced his way through early childhood with many changes of address and even more changes of hairstyle. In 2001 Dan moved to Australia where he began to follow his dream of pop stardom. Always at the top of his class in school and a member of every after school activity possible, Dan decided to take a huge risk and determined that if he was to achieve his goal school was no longer the right path. One fateful day Dan replied to an add in a music magazine searching for singers to record new songs. So began a prolific period of song-writing. As a result of these demo tracks Dan snagged himself an important production deal. The persistence, passion, pure determination and raw energy Dan literally oozes were beginning to pay off. Shortly after Dan hitched a management deal with McNielJull Management which was followed by a record deal with Naughty Records. In the winter of 2007 Dan moved to the Blue Mountains of NSW Australia to record his debut album, ENERGY which he co-wrote and co-produced. Whilst recording Dan staged a teaser tour to let the public know he had arrived. Luckily for him they liked what they saw..

In the beginning of 2008 Dan filmed Dancefloor, the short film for his first single, took to the stage to promote his new album and performed his first full length show in a residency at Sydney’s renowned Will And Toby’s. Currently Dan is preparing to take his album to the rest of the world so everyone can feel his ENERGY. Dan Knight is innovative, different and you never quite know what he will do next. One thing we can be certain of - now that he has arrived he has no intention of leaving any time soon.

Where The Hell Is Matt?

The Hump Day Crew are here to help you get over every Hump Day. Although traditionally Hump Day is the Wednesday of your working week....sometimes any day can be a Hump Day. Thus if we can bring a little smile to your face on your Hump Day, we have done our job.

We found this little clip which we think may do the trick....



Matt is a 32-year-old deadbeat from Connecticut who used to think that all he ever wanted to do in life was make and play videogames. Matt achieved this goal pretty early and enjoyed it for a while, but eventually realized there might be other stuff he was missing out on. In February of 2003, he quit his job in Brisbane, Australia and used the money he'd saved to wander around Asia until it ran out. He made this site so he could keep his family and friends updated about where he is.

A few months into his trip, a travel buddy gave Matt an idea. They were standing around taking pictures in Hanoi, and his friend said "Hey, why don't you stand over there and do that dance. I'll record it." He was referring to a particular dance Matt does. It's actually the only dance Matt does. He does it badly. Anyway, this turned out to be a very good idea.

A couple years later, someone found the video online and passed it to someone else, who passed it to someone else, and so on. Now Matt is quasi-famous as "That guy who dances on the internet. No, not that guy. The other one. No, not him either. I'll send you the link. It's funny."

The response to the first video brought Matt to the attention of the nice people at Stride gum. They asked Matt if he'd be interested in taking another trip around the world to make a new video. Matt asked if they'd be paying for it. They said yes. Matt thought this sounded like another very good idea.

In 2006, Matt took a 6 month trip through 39 countries on all 7 continents. In that time, he danced a great deal.

The second video made Matt even more quasi-famous. In fact, for a brief period in July, he was semi-famous.

Things settled down again, and then in 2007 Matt went back to Stride with another idea. He realized his bad dancing wasn't actually all that interesting, and that other people were much better at being bad at it. He showed them his inbox, which, as a result of his semi-famousness, was overflowing with emails from all over the planet. He told them he wanted to travel around the world one more time and invite the people who'd written him to come out and dance too.

The Stride people thought that sounded like yet another very good idea, so they let him do it. And he did. And now it's done. And he hopes you like it.

Matt lives in Seattle, Washington with his girlfriend, Melissa, and dog, Sydney. He hasn't had a real job since Stride called him up. Matt doesn't mind working, but he doesn't much care for having to show up at the same place every day.

Matt is not rich. Matt also doesn't have some magical secret for traveling cheaply. He does it pretty much the same way everybody else does.

Matt thinks Americans need to travel abroad more.

Matt was a very poor student and never went to college. When he got older, he was pleased to discover that no one actually cares. Matt doesn't want to imply that college is bad or anything. He's just saying is all. There's other ways to fill your head.

Matt is left-handed.

When Matt was younger, he could hang seven spoons on his face at once. Sadly, puberty made Matt's face less conducive to spoon-hanging.

Matt's Xbox Live screen name is BadDancer. He plays a lot of Rock Band.

Matt has a little piece of extra cartilage sticking out on the rim of one ear and a little hole in the same place on the other ear. Since saying so on this page, he's been informed that the extra piece of cartilage is called a Darwinian Tubercle. Matt thinks this is pretty much the greatest name for anything ever.

Matt has never lost a staring contest.

Ginni with Keiynan & Sarah from Panjo 5

Panjo 5 - Australia's hottest new young pop group have just launched their second single Stay Closer.

The group consists of Keiynan Lonsdale, Sarah Scott, Talia DiGiulio, Nancy Denis and Ellen Menaker.

Having formed during the Nine Network hit show "Airtime," - Panjo 5's pilot for the second season which follows the band on the road is currently in production.

Sarah Scott and Keiynan Lonsdale chat to Ginni about how life has changed since forming Panjo 5, from balacing school life with the band's hectic schedule to forming a close bond.

Being 17, Keiynan cannot legall vote, purchase alcohol or go into a nightclub in Australia. So, Ginni set him a task: to prank call a venue owner Samantha to organise an underage party for Panjo 5's single launch. In this prank call, Keiynan had to push Samantha's ethical boundaries and ensure that she was made to say Panjo quite a few times.
