Zoe Badwi - painting the town pink for a second time

Zoe Badwi is one of The Hump Day Crew's favourite local gals. Her energy and vocals leave you succumbing to her dancefloor and suppressing the urge to "Raise Your Hands." Due to her rocking out 300 girls at last year's March Pinkalicious party (see photo left) Zoe Badwi is back to perform at the upcoming March 20 Party at The Rydges Hotel, Melbourne, only this time, it's twice the venue size and twice the number of girls! With DJ's Ish and Mike Evans set to spin uplifting vocal house from 9pm - if Badwi's last performance was any kind of indication of what the reception would be like, this one will be set to sizzle!
Australia's first exclusively female party is set to top it's amazing first birthday bash which featured the queen of house music, Inaya Day.

However, Zoe's talents also stem outside the singing arena; in matchmaking. Her facebook page saw her posting a picture of her friend saying: "can you believe this girl is still single?" Naturally, that was a rhetorical question! So to celebrate Zoe's return to Pinkalicious and her apparent "pimping" - The Hump Day Crew will set her a task they'd like to call "PIMPALICIOUS."

Pictured below is one of Bish's mates, James whom Zoe actively tried to "pimp" out on today's show.

Pinkalicious - All Style and Chic(k)

Pinkalicious has created history, not only for Melbourne's lesbian community but is the first enforced female only event in the country.

The application for a women's only event with a VCAT exemption was granted last week which gives promoters the right to turn biological men away from the event.

Following the lead of other Melbourne gay clubs like The Peel and The Laird Hotel's policies allowing them to exclude patrons of the opposite sex, Pinkalicious hostess Julie MacKenzie said "lesbians now have a place they can feel comfortable and won't be subjected to judgement about their sexuality or receive unwanted male attention."

Pinkalicious does not discriminate against members of the opposite sex - the exemption purely priortises safety and comfort of females. Hostess Julie MacKenzie joins The Hump Day Crew and talks about the exemption and the next two parties. Click here to listen to their chat.

The next Pinkalicious will be held on August 15 - tune into The Hump Day Crew from 6:30am on August 12 for more details.

No H8 Campaign

Since the passage of Proposition 8; the banning of same sex marriage in the state of California was passed in November last year, reknown photographer - Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley formed a silent protest in the form of a photo project -The No H8 Campaign. The photos feature subjects with their mouths covered in duct tape to symbolise voices being unheard and the words "No H8" painted on their cheek. Parshley and Bouska have released a series of PSA's and have compiled a collection to over a total of 700 photos which they hope to one day include in a billboard to drive further awareness.
